The Moving Atoms Project

The Moving Atoms Project is an open-source nanotechnology research project.

Our goal is to make 3D covalently-bonded objects atom by atom.

This project is run by Jacob Rintamaki, with assistance from many contributors. (LINK HERE)

Why are you doing this project?

Our goal is to kickstart atomically precise manufacturing (APM) nanotech.

We believe that our technical objective is crucial for achieving APM.

Why is achieving APM an important goal?

If you could make atomically precise products (chips, medicines, machines, etc.) then their capabilities would quickly surpass all of our current technology due to their atomic precision.

Why hasn't APM been developed yet?

There are many reasons, but the largest is the lack of an urgent, iterative, open-source approach.

What have you done so far?

What are the things you still need to get done?

How can I help?
